Serissa foetida 'Variegata'
syn. S. japonica. Known as the "Tree of a Thousand Stars." Very much loved by bonsai growers for its gnarled trunks, naturally miniature leaves, and tiny flowers which may occur 2-3 times a year. In summer, pink buds open to star-shaped white flowers on this 12-24 in. by 12-30in. plant from south-east Asia. Deep green leaves variegated with creamy margins. Evergreen. Hardy to Zone 9, (maybe hardier?)
